Gala premier for the “Petit Palais” Guetsch-restaurant with celebrity opening
Press Release, Luzern/Zurich, 27. June
Many prominent members of the community were on hand in Lucern on Friday to launch Hotel Chateau Guetsch's newset retaurant “the Petit Palais”. This event marks the new Russian owner's first step towards the revitalisation of this Lucerne trademark. The “Petit Palais” offers its guests an elegant atmosphere with the finest in food and wine. The restaurant, whose side rooms provide possibilities for banquets and seminars, will officially open for business on the 4th July. For those guests with more modest demands a viewing platform with Snack Bar is also available next to the hotel.
Friday's inauguration of Hotel Chateau Guetsch's “Petit Palais” gourmet restaurant has raised the bar for Lucerne's high-class gastronomy. Alexander Lebedev, President of the Broad of Directors for the National Reserve Corporation (NRC), which acquired the Hotel complex in 2007, was on hand to welcome a host of political, business and cultural VIP's to the celebrations.
The extensively renovated interior of the restaurant, a concept brought to fruition by Linear Project AG (Stans) under the direction of architects Hanspeter Fischer, Alex Kunz and Gody Erni in conjunction with interior designer Roger Stüssi from SOIUS, lends a timeless feel to this once famous Hotel. It also sets the direction for the planned transformation of the Chateau Guetsch into a boutique hotel. Noble materials, an imposing fireplace, and the spectacular chandelier create an elegant cosiness in the lounge-esque Gallery (100 places). No less inviting is the brightly lit Veranda with its wood tones and a terrace which offers space for 50 people, guaranteeing a breathtaking panorama of the city, lake and the Alps.
The dignified atmosphere of the building is reflected in the quality of the cuisine. In this facet, the “Petit Palais” maintains a link to the traditions of the former Guetsch-restaurants which served locals as a meeting point for family celebrations and festivities. In the initial phase, Axel Kirchner from the restaurant Axely in Engelberg will lead the kitchen. In Autumn, he will hand over to Fabian Inderbitzen (27) and his team. This young star chef, who is delighting customers at the Horwerm Seehotel Kastanienbaum, has been hailed by leading gastronomy guide GaultMillau as the “discovery of the Year”.
The “Petit Palais” is not only for culinary high-fliers looking for an intimate setting. The newly restored Rittersaal offers a captivating backdrop for banquets and seminars. The inside terrace with its beautiful garden elements is available for private events such as weddings. Officially, the restaurant opens on the 1. July. Until the first of August it will close on Sunday evenings and Mondays. After this it will be open 7 days a week.
Hotel Gütsch also welcomes those guests with more modest demands. The new owners have constructed a spacious viewing platform next to the hotel where tourists and day trippers can enjoy drinks and snacks from the bar in a relaxed atmosphere.
